Presence.
This isn’t talked about often, yet it’s what I see kids crave more than anything else.
It’s spending time together without an agenda. You’re not trying to get them to talk about something or learn anything. You’re not even trying to create a special time together or give them attention.
You’re simply present. You have no distractions. You don’t need anything from your child and nothing needs to be done. You’re not thinking about something else.
Your presence is a great gift to another person. It creates connection.
When you’re truly present, you bring your full being to the experience. It’s beautiful and it gives the other person permission to be present too.
Presence brings inner peace.
And children respond to it simply and directly.
